Some tips to keep in mind:

  • Water: Tap water in Bali is not safe for direct consumption. We recommend drinking bottled or properly filtered water, which is readily available at hotels, restaurants and convenience stores.
  • Power plug: The standard electrical current in Bali is 230 volts AC (50 Hz), using Type C and Type F power plugs with two round pins.
  • Language: Bahasa Indonesia is the official language, while Balinese is widely spoken locally. English is commonly understood in hotels, restaurants and major tourist areas.
  • Smoking & Vaping: Smoking and Vaping is restricted in designated smoke-free areas, including healthcare facilities, educational institutions, public transport and certain public spaces. Please use designated smoking areas where available.
  • Currency: The local currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Credit cards are widely accepted at hotels and major establishments, but carrying some cash is recommended for smaller purchases.
  • Local customs: Bali is rich in cultural and religious traditions. Visitors are encouraged to dress respectfully when visiting temples and be mindful of religious offerings placed along walkways.
